I have called Medicine Hat home for the past five years. My family and I chose this city to live, run a small business, and contribute to the community. Over time, I’ve seen both what makes our city special and the challenges that threaten its strength. Many residents have expressed a sense of distance from city hall. Decisions are made, but the process often feels unclear and difficult to connect with.

I am running for council to help rebuild trust through responsible and transparent leadership. This campaign reflects a commitment to thoughtful governance that respects taxpayers and upholds our shared community values.

A Clear Vision for City Hall

I believe that good government thrives when openness and accountability are at its core. If elected, I will encourage approaches that foster greater visibility into how decisions are made, ensuring residents feel more connected and informed. Embracing technology and innovation can create new pathways for people to understand and engage with city affairs.

Enhancing Access to Information

Removing barriers between citizens and the information they need is vital for a healthy community. I will support efforts to improve the availability and clarity of public records, helping residents navigate and understand the workings of their city more easily. Communication should prioritize clarity and simplicity, empowering everyone to know their rights and how to participate fully.

Fostering Meaningful Community Conversations

Transparency goes beyond documents; it is about building ongoing dialogue. I will advocate for more regular opportunities, both in person and online, that invite residents to share their perspectives and hear from council members. Ensuring that these conversations are widely accessible helps deepen residents’ engagement and trust. I also believe in embracing diverse ways for the community to participate, recognizing that meaningful connections require creativity and responsiveness.

Building a Culture of Trust

True transparency and accountability flourish when supported by independent reflection and responsive action. I will promote practices that encourage continuous improvement in how council interacts with residents, fostering an environment where input is valued and shapes our city’s direction. Together, we can cultivate a local government rooted in openness, respect, and shared commitment to the well-being of Medicine Hat.
